My current research explores the presence of invisible forces—those quiet, often unspoken currents that shape our inner and outer worlds. These forces exist in the tension between what is felt and what is seen, what is remembered and what remains unresolved. They manifest through conditioning, trauma, generational patterning, and the subtle psychological imprints that dictate how we move through life. Equally, they appear in nature: in wind, breath, rhythm, cycles, and the delicate balance between destruction and renewal.

I work with veils, unprimed canvases, charcoal, pigments, and fragments of text to give form to what is otherwise intangible. Veils, suspended and alive with movement, become carriers of breath—responsive to natural currents, changing light, and the presence of the viewer. Their shifting behaviour mirrors emotional landscapes: fragile yet resilient, temporary yet insistent. Through them, I investigate how invisible forces shape personal identity, memory, and the ways we inhabit space.

As a continuous migrant, multilingual observer, and woman moving through a predominantly male-dominated art world, I document these forces in field notes and journals collected over fifteen years. These writings inform my visual language, becoming distilled into marks, gestures, or sparse lines of text that trace states of mind: the weight of silence, the sharpness of fear, the softness of healing, the slow reconstruction of self.

Central to this research is the understanding of the mind’s capacity to recondition itself. Neuroplasticity—the ability to rewrite patterns carved by trauma—parallels the physical motion of my materials. The veils bend, release, resist, or yield, embodying the continuous negotiation between internal storms and the search for equilibrium.

My work positions invisible forces as both intimate and universal: the unseen energies that pull us apart, the ones that hold us together, and the ones that guide us toward transformation.
